Panoramic ascent through Valle di Ledro and the alpine meadows of Tremalzo with final adrenaline-filled descent towards Lake Ledro!
The first leg of the tour unfolds through the upper Valle di Ledro. The ascent, mostly on asphalt, is at its steepest between Tiarno di Sopra and Tremalzo. The meadows of Tremalzo are well known for their flowers and plants. At the ornithological centre in Caset birds are ringed and observed during the Autumn and Spring as they make their way to and from Africa. The descent winds down through the meadows around Malga Guil, at first gentle and gradual, then steep and quick from Ca' de Mez on. Final stretch along the turquoise banks of Lake Ledro.
Tremalzo is the ideal place for a nice half-way stop. Rifugio Garibaldi, Ristorante Da Richetto and Albergo Garda offer energetic meals for bikers. Why not end the day with a wonderful dive into Lake Ledro? In July the water temperature can reach up to 28°C!
On the way down, please be particularly mindful of hikers.
From Ca' de Mez on: technically challenging stretches due to terrain and steepness.
Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.
Follow the cycling path towards Ampola. At the end of the cycling path, instead of cycling further to the lake, take the the little road to the left, which soon joins with the road for Tremalzo (SP 127). At Rifugio Garibaldi turn into the forestry road to Bocca Caset. At the fork take the path to the right, which leads through the meadows of Ca' de Mez and Sant'Anna and then downhill into the woods towards Lake Ledro. Follow the cycling path from Pur to get back to Pieve.
