The first leg of the tour unfolds through the upper Valle di Ledro. The ascent, mostly on asphalt, is at its steepest between Tiarno di Sopra and Tremalzo. The meadows of Tremalzo are well known for their flowers and plants. At the ornithological centre in Caset birds are ringed and observed during the Autumn and Spring as they make their way to and from Africa. The descent winds down through the meadows around Malga Guil, at first gentle and gradual, then steep and quick from Ca' de Mez on. Final stretch along the turquoise banks of Lake Ledro.

Author’s recommendation

Tremalzo is the ideal place for a nice half-way stop. Rifugio Garibaldi, Ristorante Da Richetto and Albergo Garda offer energetic meals for bikers. Why not end the day with a wonderful dive into Lake Ledro? In July the water temperature can reach up to 28°C!

der Trail lohnt die Auffahrt nicht. Wir haben uns richtig geärgert, die Tour gefahren zu sein! Rifugio Garibaldi war geschlossen. Sah so aus, als ob für länger geschlossen wäre.

I did this tour today, Oct 5th 2019. The first 20 km is a scenic ride through the local area. The downhill trail is okay at first, but then becomes really difficult and I would say dangerous. I had to walk the section from the coordinate below until Strada Pubregn. My bike-rental agreed on the danger, and suggested a slightly different route from 45°52'12.9" N, 10°42'57.5" via Bochet de la Spinera, Sentér de Caront & Strada San Martino
